Well...
this is random. and its for my aunt for christmas.
how it was made:
I was gonna gather the bottle-caps as i went walking around, just the way that my aunt has found so many (she has a huge jar full, but has no idea what to do with them lol), but i thought HELL NO and cheated and went down to the supermarket and bought a bag of 100 bottle caps for like, AU$2.50 haha! I also got a tube of Tarzan-Grip glue while i was there, and i sat there outside with a piece of concrete-board and a hammer and squashed a heap of the caps till they where flat .
I then glued the caps onto a 6"x8" canvas board, and once that was dry I sprayed the board with white undercoat (so the paint would stick lol). Once that was dry (it takes like, 10 mins XD) I sat down and painted the sunset onto it. While I was there, I painted a 10"x12" stretched canvas with the darker tones that I used on the bottle caps.
Once the board with the caps was dry, I sprayed it with a coat of matt estapol, and once that was dry I glued the canvas and the board together. (Im clever, I did a horizon line on both, and matched it up hehe).
Materials:
Coopers home-brew bottle caps
Tarzan-Grip super glue (it certainly dries clear!)
A stolen hammer
Canvas board
Stretched canvas
Matt Estapol
White acrylic undercoat (in a spraycan, very handy)
Oil paint (YES I USED OILS!!!!!!!)
Yeah. Finished product. Hope my aunt likes it, haha.
